New: Where to Eat Now

It’s been a great year for new restaurants—in quality and quantity. I ate at places with Iron Chefs and places helmed by brilliant kids straight out of George Brown, at izakayas that transport you to Tokyo and a flashy pasta place that made me want to eagerly return to the Yorkdale mall (and I’m not a mall person), at an ambitious hole in the wall born from a Kickstarter campaign and at the most extraordinary restaurant to open in Toronto in a long, long time. Then came the less enviable job of narrowing the best down to 20. Here are my picks for the most exciting places to dine in 2016.
